But today, key loggers are misused. This software can be installed directly or remotely on victim’s computer and it could be in stealth mode, so that victim would not able to find it easily, and uninstall it.

Phishing is also easy method. It’s an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as user names, passwords and credit card details. In easy words it’s a fake page that seems to be real one. As victims log in there, the password and all information goes to hacker. There are various methods to craft the fake page and make the victim to log in there.

Prevention: Always log-in from www.facebook.com . Never use any shortcut created in internet cafes and on other devices. Always check the login page url (link in address bar), it must be ‘www.facebook.com.’  If the url is different from the usual, do not log in there.

SESSION HIJACKING:

Session hijacking is often very dangerous, if you are using Facebook or any site on http:// connection. In this attack a hacker steals the cookies from the victim’s browser which is used to authenticate a user on a website and uses to it, to access victims account. This attack is often used on LAN’s.

Prevention: After your work is done on browser, always clear the caches, saved form and password data’s, and browsing internet history.

PHONE (MOBILE) HACKING:

There are many people who use facebook on their mobile phones. A hacker can simply install a spying software on mobile and can get every data. And also monitor the facebook account logged into that device.

The extension steals victims intercept unencrypted cookies. As the cookies are transmitted over network, exploiting session hijacking vulnerabilities.

 It shows the targeted discovered identities on a sidebar displayed in the browser, and allow the hacker to access the account.

Prevention: Always use GOOGLE CHROME. After your work is done on browser, always clear the caches, saved form and password data’s, and browsing internet history.
